Facility Technician

SCOPE

Facility technician will be responsible for keeping the facility organized and clean and performing routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair tasks.  Technicians will focus on multiple systems including HVAC, electrical and water.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Perform daily operations, maintenance and repairs on utility systems, manufacturing equipment and building systems with minimal supervision

·         Troubleshoot electrical equipment during off-nominal conditions; locate issue, make/arrange for repairs and interact and oversee contractor work

·         Interpret I&ID’s, equipment/system layouts, wiring diagrams and specifications in planning and performing repairs.

·         Keeping the facility clean daily to assist operations focus.  Tasks include clean-up of the factory floor, delivery of materials, changing of filters, cleaning

work surfaces of equipment,

assembly of new furniture, shelfing and similar light repair as required

·         Repairing broken/leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures

·         Maintaining the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning

·         Applying preventative measures to the building and equipment to reduce the risk of future problems including greasing, filter changes etc.

·         Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries

REQUIREMENTS

· 5+ years of experience working in a facilities or maintenance technician role

·         Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems

·         Demonstrated HVAC/Refrigeration and facilities expertise.  Specifically, air compressors, deionized water and cooling water systems

·         Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods

·         Experienced in operating a variety of equipment and small hand tools

·         Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices

·         Enjoy customer service of maintaining facilities

·         Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills

·         Be able to contribute effectively in a team environment and interface well with others

·         Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol

·         Must be a US Citizen or be a lawful permanent resident of the U.S. to meet Export Control requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

·         Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds

·         Push or pull heavy objects using up to 35 pounds of force 

·         Stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time 

·         Reach, bend, squat, lift arms over head
